For the past 10 years, she has been teaching watercolor classes for beginners and intermediate students through the Town of Windsor Community Services Department and conducting a multimedia workshop for the Windsor Senior Center. Her paintings are done in a realistic style with a natural luminosity.
Her works is best described in her own words.

I want to reflect throughout my paintings the natural beauty, light color that exists in every subject that surrounds us.

About the paintings

In her surrealistic work, flowers are mostly the subject that Rosa uses to represent aspect of life, death, feelings and emotions. She plays with natures forms by sometimes exchanging the petals for bones to form the flowers.
I am fascinated by the possibilities that I find when I paint in a surrealistic style. It is creating my own world where my feelings are transferred to my favorite subject, the flower.

Shows

Rosa has had many solo shows throughout her career and she has received many awards. In 1985 she was named Artist of the Year by the Redwood Empire Art Society. She is currently participating in ARTrails, an open studio program in October where people can see first hand Sonoma Country artist at work.
